February 4, 2012

Our family BBQ post no 3 – My stepsister Jacqui and her family – this year they upgraded from a family of 4 1/2 to a family of 5. We found out last Xmas BBQ that baby Luke was on his way :-) And now this year here he is in all his gorgeous, smooshy, chubby glory!

So now Hamish is a big brother, and Devon a big brother again :-)

Photos of my kids – Melbourne Child Photography

January 30, 2012

I dug out my old film Nikon F90 and some rolls of Portra NC ISO400 out of the fridge.

How sweet to feel that film travel through the camera.

How funny to keep looking at the back of my camera and see nothing but a black camera back lol.

And how utterly wonderful to drop them into the photoshop, and pick up the prints the next day.

I LOVE film – so much. Love the soft feel it has – it isn’t perfect like digital, but it has it’s own romanticism. I am going to have so much fun using up the leftover film in my fridge hehe.

(please excuse the bad scan – I only have my flat bed scanner hooked up – think I’ll have to dig out the old negative scanner too…wonder if it’ll work with my Mac)???

Pretty little Miss I – Melbourne Newborn & Childrens Photographer

January 26, 2012

Every year we get together with our step sisters for our annual Xmas time bbq, with the Mitchell girls and their families.   I managed to take some photos of amazing Ez’s little girl Isabel (now 4yo – can’t believe how time flies), who was a little shy at first while she got to know me again. Didn’t last long though before she came out of her shell and gave me these gorgeous animated expressions.

Jacqui – your kids photos are coming next :-)

Henry's photos my 2yr old nephew – Melbourne family photographer

January 7, 2012

Not a toddler anymore, he's a kid!

This year we were blessed enough to have the entire family here. My Father here from QLD and his cruises. He works as music manager on Princess Cruise lines…yup, get’s paid to go on cruises all over the world!

My brother James and his family from Brisbane, his wife Kanya and our 2 nieces, Natasha 11yo and Nalyn 6yo.

And our stepsisters Jacqui and Ez with their families too – I’ll be blogging them all over the next weeks.

And this is my sister and her family from Bairnsdale. We see the most of Gin and  Ben and my cute nephew Henry as they are only a 4hour drive away.

So this is my sister Gin’s family. My nephew Henry is a bundle of curly blonde haired energy, he ADORES anything that is vehicular……brrrrooooooommmmm! The light was SO perfect this evening – we couldn’t have ordered better weather for their annual summer photos.

Hey Billy Baby….Melbourne baby, child photographer

November 27, 2011

Hey there Billy baby….Meeeeeeeow, meeeeeeow….!!!

…meet Billy, the redpoint Ragdoll. We are convinced that he is trying out for Australia’s Whingiest Cat title! Seriously, this big boy cries for food all day long, and I assure you he is a well fed puddy cat! Check out that pee’ed off face lol! Cat with attitude.

Our Billy is very difficult to photograph, the second you point the lens at him he looks away or looks down. As a result we have so few good photos of him, so I’m very happy to have captured this pic of our sweet, pee’ed off boy, the baby of our family.

Newborn Baby C – Melbourne Baby Photographer

October 3, 2011

Gorgeous baby C made us all melt the other day when she came into the studio.  With Mum & Dad looking on, my assistant Angelique took some video footage for us to demonstrate the gentle, relaxed process of our newborn shoots so we can share this with new Mums prior to their session.   Baby C was just devine and we got some beautiful photos.  Check out our video http://Newborn Session demonstration videoyoutu.be/ftiRCMjGINQ

Just a quick share…took some photos of my children having fun playing The Sims on the Macbook Pro. Although photography is my passion, my kids don’t usually ‘allow’ their photos to be taken sigh….

Nanny Ei, nearly 93 years old! Melbourne Photography

July 11, 2011

We went to visit my Nan the other day – she is almost 93 yo! She has Alzheimer’s so has her good and bad days…she was on a good day this time. Up to her wicked tricks and trying to fake cry so that we’d take her out for lunch! Unfortunately it was a FREEZING cold day and we aren’t about to risk her catching a chill.

Nan slips between eras….sometimes she is close to present day (although she is convinced she is only 80), other times she asking my Mum who her latest boyfriend is….so back in the 60′s. Yet she still remembers me, even when she is in an era that was before my time, thank you for that Nan. I dread the day you don’t know who I am anymore.

So, we had an amusing visit…Nan loves shock value and can be very inapropriate, much to my kids’ delight!  And although she’s had a better than ‘good innings’, everytime I leave her, I give her that kiss and hug and hope that it wont be the last one.

I love you Nanny Ei

Nanny Ei - although these were only taken with a point and shoot camera and are a 'snapshot', I know that I will treasure these so much! Photos simply mean so much.

cousins kids photography Melbourne

Cousins - Melbourne children, kids, family photography

April 26, 2011

Ok – it’s been awhile since I posted or took any personal photos. I’ve been soooo busy with my work that it’s fallen by the wayside.

We’ve spent Easter in Bairnsdale with my sister’s family and inlaws. My sister (Gin), her hubby (Ben) and my adorable 2yo nephew (Henry) moved from St Kilda to Bairnsdale in January. They have staying with Ben’s mum and stepdad Jen and Mike which is where we stayed. Jen cooked feasts for us 3 times a day, gave up her bedroom for us, insisting she loves sleeping in her van (not completely convinced Jen)! Mike taught us all about the local wildlife, birdlife etc etc, a wealth of information.

Here is just one photo for now. It totally melts my heart. My kids adore Henry and you can see he feels the same way too. This was taken on the front porch of Ben and Gin’s new home which they’ll move into this week! Exciting times.

Jen and Mike – we are all so very grateful for your hospitality, more than words can say. We’ll always remember this Easter as a fun filled, gastronomically packed, wonderful time!!!
