Cousins - Melbourne children, kids, family photography
April 26, 2011
Ok – it’s been awhile since I posted or took any personal photos. I’ve been soooo busy with my work that it’s fallen by the wayside.
We’ve spent Easter in Bairnsdale with my sister’s family and inlaws. My sister (Gin), her hubby (Ben) and my adorable 2yo nephew (Henry) moved from St Kilda to Bairnsdale in January. They have staying with Ben’s mum and stepdad Jen and Mike which is where we stayed. Jen cooked feasts for us 3 times a day, gave up her bedroom for us, insisting she loves sleeping in her van (not completely convinced Jen)! Mike taught us all about the local wildlife, birdlife etc etc, a wealth of information.
Here is just one photo for now. It totally melts my heart. My kids adore Henry and you can see he feels the same way too. This was taken on the front porch of Ben and Gin’s new home which they’ll move into this week! Exciting times.
Jen and Mike – we are all so very grateful for your hospitality, more than words can say. We’ll always remember this Easter as a fun filled, gastronomically packed, wonderful time!!!

My kids, friends, school hols – Melbourne child photographer
February 6, 2011
My daughter Chloe is 11 years old….a preteen. And teens and pre teens LOVE photos! So we did an impromptu shoot when Chloe’s friend Miss O and her sister Miss I came for a movie/play date.
It was 40.2C when this was taken – stinking hot! And although my airconditioner felt lovely in comparison to outdoors, we were all a little ‘radiant’
Miss “I” REALLY REALLY wants to see these so I’ll do my best to get them done for you asap.

Love this pic. What happened to Jesse Joo’s nose though?
-
Seriously FUN capture! So jealous on the hot part, we got hit by an ice storm this week!
-
Gin he was swimming in Nadia’s pool last Monday when it was super hot…anyhow, he didn’t have his goggles so was closing his eyes under the water so his eyes wont get sore. But he went too deep and grazed his nose on the bottom of the pool! It looked alot worse than it actually is and he’s now picked all that scab off!

Birthday time in the House! Melbourne child, family photographer
January 18, 2011
It’s birthday time in the house – first Jesse, he turned 8 on 9th Jan. Then Chloe, 11 on the 13th Jan. And my nephew Henry had his 2nd birthday, yesterday 17th Jan!
Both of my kids had their besties over for a sleepover, movies etc. Chloe spent her day at MSAC in the Splash Out pools and water activities, Jesse went Ten Pin bowling at the Greensborough Lanes.
And we had a little family get together for Henry’s 2nd at my Mums. My brother and his family are currently down from QLD and my sister and family have just moved to Bairnsdale and are back in Melb to see my brother. So it was a big family reunion. I wish my Dad were here too (he’s cruising the Pacific on the Princess Cruises, great job he has)!
So here are a few from the last few days.

Well with a ton of help from family, we have got through the cleaning and painting stage and I’m finally able to envision the finished studio. I knew the potential, which is why we leased it, but it was difficult to imagine the final result when it was so run down!
Amazing what a coat of paint can do.
So – painting done, power on, internet coming, floor chosen and ready to lay, alarm chosen and ready to be installed in the very near future…we are getting there.
Here are a couple of pix of the progress (just some snaps from my little camera).

Family day with my gorgeous toddler nephew! Melbourne Photographer
October 18, 2010
We had a gorgeous relaxed day at my sister and brother in law’s today. They are currently selling up their place in St Kilda to move to Bairnsdale area…so gotta make the most of only an hour’s journey!
So Henry (my nephew) delighted in playing all day with Jesse and Chloe and we delighted in watching them. Henry is now 21 months old and just delightful. I could just sit and watch him and listen to his cute babble and giggles all day.
Here are some pix from today.

Chloe cuddling Henry. To get him to look at the camera I had to put the bowl of jaffas on my camera lol

Nat’s 70?s Show! Melbourne child, portrait photographer
August 22, 2010
Both Chloe and I take singing lessons. Chloe does it for pure fun, me too but I do sing alot when I teach at GymbaROO and therefore wish to sing the best that ‘I can’! Nope, I’m not a good singer, I sing low – like a man (alto), and all kids songs are too high for me. My pitch is pretty good, the sound of my voice ‘meh’ (I hate my voice).
Chloe is good – and getting better all the time. Her pitch is spot on.
So every year, Natalie (Naturally Music) puts on a show – this year it was a 70′s theme. Her 40 or so student range from 6years-40+years! I’m in the latter lol.
Chloe was in 7 numbers (Livin’ in the 70′s, Time Warp, You can’t stop the Music, The tide is High, Keep On, Shake your Groove Thing, Don’t rain on my Parade) – I just did the one solo (Love is in the Air and came on at the start), then I photographed the rest.
It was such a fun night – and by the end we were all EXHAUSTED.
Thanks again Nat for all your hard work, your vision and nurturing to give us the opportunity to participate in your show. Love ya girl

St Kilda Stroll! Melbourne family photographer
August 10, 2010
Yesterday was a wonderful day. The kids had the day off school so that the teachers could train on the new UltraNet. So we drove to my sister’s in St Kilda to spend the day with Gin and my Dad on his last day in Melb till Feb. He has a lovely few months ahead cruising the Tahitian tropical islands…..what a job!
So yesterday was a beautiful day, sun shining, gentle breeze -even a teeny bit of warmth to be felt in the sun. So we headed out for lunch, then for an amble in the park.
Henry kept us entertained with his ‘uh oh’s’ – at the top of his voice (of course). Boys only have one volume setting – LOUD! And Jesse kept Henry entertained, just by being there. Henry really looks up to Jesse, I think it’s the big boy thing. I’m so glad I brought my camera along – I have been leaving it behind, it’s big and cumbersome to take around with me. But I did really want to get some photos with Dad before he heads off again for the next 6 months.
So here are a few snaps from our day yesterday…

Yep, yesterday was a lovely day. I have just dropped Dad of at the airport, so won’t see him now until Feb / Mar 2011
-
Somehow it’s so much harder when he isn’t just a ‘plane trip’ away isn’t it. -
O Amanda I love these, your sister is gorgeous and your kids adorable, as for your dad, the photo with him and his cap, awesome, he looks like he is somewhere sitting at a cafe in France:) So wish we had more city life here:(

Singing Concert Rehearsal
August 7, 2010
Both Chloe (my 10 year old daughter) and I do singing lessons! I’ve always loved singing and because I sing alot when I teach at GymbaROO, I thought it was prudent to ‘improve my voice’! I’m an alto – in other words my voice is deep and I sing like a man. When I was a teenager I have memories of driving to nightclubs with 2 of my girlfriends, singing”Tell me More” from the Grease soundtrack. They sung the Livvy and girl parts – and yep, I sung John Travolta and the boys! So relate this back to my teaching….teaching babies and tots you sing in a high voice, young children like higher voices! Eeeeekkkkk – not easy for me. And for those of you who have had a session with me, you’ll already know that I sing to the kids almost constantly! Singing is a wonderful tool to get their attention, I can guarantee that if a kid is picking their nose (like so many do), and you exclaim ‘darling stop picking your nose’, they’ll just keep on picking away. But if you sing ‘put your hands on your knees on your knees’, you will get their instant attention through the song, and they will put their hands on their knees, this works almost EVERY time!
So back to the rehearsal bit, Chloe adores her singing, it is her favourite activity, and she is lucky. She has really good pitch and her voice is getting stronger and sounding lovely. Her latest fave is ‘Don’t Rain on My Parade’ (she’s a big Glee fan).
In a week and a half, Naturally Music is having their annual concert. Chloe is in heaps of it, I’ve been a bit naughty and got out of most of it – because I’m taking photos hehee. Not too worried about singing, but the dance moves yikes…..I’m more like an uncoordinated elephant!
So here are a few photos of Chloe at the rehearsal we had on Thursday nite. And a couple of Natalie’s boy rehearsing too…enjoy Nat.

haha!
I saw the link on your facebook page and wanted to see what Chole gets up to when shes not in the pool!
very nice, maybe next time instead of trying to steal my whiteboard marker to change the swimming set she could persuade me to change it with her singing (im sure shes waaaaaaaaaay better than me! im pretty much tone deaf…although, maybe i can get her to train harder if i threaten to sing!)From your awesome swimming coach, Katharine
P.S Im also a HUGE glee fan
-
haha very funny thanks for giving me a tip. On Sunday i’m going to make you sing in front of the class whether you want to or not
Clo Jo
P.S I can’t wait to hear your AMAZING singing voice because I’m sure there will be a few laughs. -
How wonderful!!!! I adore the performing arts. What a good mom you are to put them in this!!!

Well today Chloe has a playmate over for a sleepover. Jesse had his mate over on Monday and today it’s Chloe’s turn.
She arrived today and was hoping to do a photoshoot! That is so bizarre for me, my kids hate the camera – so to have a kid love it is WOW!!
So we went to Bundoora Park for a bit of a play and an ‘informal’ photoshoot. I pretty much just took a few snaps of them playing and posing together. I guess this is the sign of things to come, teens LOVE photos of themselves with their friends
Zoi – I hope you like them!
